Queen Nessa’s Greeting

The Q Dance Philosophy

Bringing Decency, Elegance, Joy & Celebration Back to the Dance Floor

At Queen Nessa’s Gospel Jazz Lounge, we believe music and dance can be expressions of joy, fellowship, celebration, and the human spirit.

The Q welcomes people of different backgrounds and beliefs to enjoy gospel-inspired music, smooth jazz, old-school favorites, and tasteful social dancing in an atmosphere of class, elegance, and respect.

“Our dance floor is a place for happiness without vulgarity, celebration without disrespect, and fun without compromising dignity.”

Welcomed: line dancing, coordinated group dances, Motown and old-school social dancing, inspirational dance socials, and respectful

partner dancing with consent and personal space. Not encouraged: sexually suggestive dancing, twerking intended to create a sexually

explicit atmosphere, grinding, inappropriate rubbing against another person's body, or conduct that disregards personal boundaries.

The focus is on the actual movements, lyrics where relevant, guest conduct, and overall atmosphere—not simply whether a song is

labeled Christian or secular. Hosts and DJs should understand the standards and apply them consistently. Guests should never be pressured

to dance or participate.

Christians hold differing convictions about dancing. Psalm 150:4 and Ecclesiastes 3:4 are among the passages cited in discussions

of dance, while other believers interpret modesty, holiness, and avoiding temptation more restrictively. The Q can acknowledge

those differences while maintaining its own clear standards.
